Over 300 passengers per trip with boeing 777 that now flies from finfinne to DC and around $1300 per trip if not more we are looking at close to half a million dollars per one trip. And they now fly 7 days a week. A million dollars a day is a lot of money to risk for ethiopian government by neglecting the majority.

There are other carriers that one can fly. Lufthansa, Birtish Airways, Emirates, KLM, Kenya Airways, Saudi Air..... to mention few.
Especially, if you live out side of Ethiopia, you have many choices. If you care about the oppressed, you should at least help justice, democracy and human rights grow by doing a very simple thing--stop supporting an Airlines owned and operated by a dictatorial regime.

As an Ormo myself, I'm just trying hard to understand your logic as well as the probable outcome of your efforts to bring down the airline. have you thought of the thousands of Oromos working for the iarline? Have you put in place a safety net for them just incase they lose their job? do you know how many others there are under their hedship have you at all thought of these other thousands? This blogger is your nightmare because it exposes what Wayane and its recurites do against the freedom and interest of the Oromo people. Oromos and other freedom loving people do not boycott this and other sites that contribute to peace, justice and freedom. They would rather boycott, brutal, dictators and their money machines. If you are disappointed or angred when encountering the truth, we can NOT help you. It's you who put himself/herself in such a wrong environment in the first place. But if you're a person who would like to be on the side of truth, then it's up to board the freedom bandwagn whether you're Oromian or non-Oromian just for the sake of freedom and justice for all.
I read this blog and tried to get a sense of it. What I understand from the comments given, few bloggers who think themselves as a majority, in one way or the other expressed their hatred against TPLF. They also think they are talking on behalf of the large Oromo population in Ethiopia. They believe that their plan to boycott flying Ethiopian Airlines will weaken the ruling party in the country and that leads the way to bring freedom to the Oromo people.
I don’t see any sound argument going on here. Their default assumption is as if the whole economy of the country is rested on the operation of a single business enterprise, which is Ethiopian airlines, and weakening the airline means weakening the government. This argument doesn’t hold water. If there is any other intention to boycott flying Ethiopian airlines, tell us about it but do not play it as if you did it for the cause of freedom to the Oromo any other ideal you are talking about.

Ethiopian government is so huge and have multifaceted income generating institutes, and Ethiopian airlines has never been a source of income for the government as it has been exempted for long time and still is from paying income taxes, import duties and dividends.
Ethiopian airlines is also a huge business (not political) enterprise which has survived many challenges over the past 65 years. It has more than 350,000 loyal customers (frequent flyers). It is a big brand in Africa, a strategic partner for star alliance. Its passenger base primarily originates from countries other than Ethiopia. Since 2008, the airline won over 9 awards in international stages for its success and achievements. Ethiopian Airlines Named "Africa’s Most Profitable Airlines" for the Third Time in a Row just last month, look at their website. The airline is run by experienced team of management in the aviation industry not by political activists as the crowns testifies. This airline is one of the companies that I aspire to work for.
As I closely work with the airlines flying to Addis Ababa and beyond, I have observed that the government (how you call it TPLF) collects much from other airlines flying to and through Addis Ababa in the form of taxes, landing, overflying and ground handling charges. This amount is primarily collected by the Civil Aviation, and Ethiopian Airport Enterprise. How are you going to deny the government from collecting this money? Do you know that whoever airline flying over Ethiopian skies pays for crossing the air space. Whether you fly with Ethiopian airlines or any other airline no one has a right to protect the government from collecting the money. So what to do??
If boycotting is your plan, please boycott totally flying with any airline over Ethiopian airspace and use other means of ground transportation if you can or else stop flying to Addis totally. The fact is: Ethiopian airliens is a state owned company. Ethiopian state it is. The money goes to the owner, to ethiopian government, woyyane it is . It is a fact that the company is profitable, he himself is not denying that, he actually brags about it. What fact is he asking about it then. It is a fact that the company is profitable and it is a fact that the profit goes to the owner. The fact that we don't know is the exact amount of the profit. Is that what he asking about? That fact might not known even to him to a woyyane spoks person because that is not his responsiblity. His reponsiblity is to defend the governement online among other things. I read this blog and tried to get a sense of it. What I understand from the comments given, few bloggers who think themselves as a majority, in one way or the other expressed their hatred against TPLF. They also think they are talking on behalf of the large Oromo population in Ethiopia. They believe that their plan to boycott flying Ethiopian Airlines will weaken the ruling party in the country and that leads the way to bring freedom to the Oromo people.

Their default assumption is as if the whole economy of the country is rested on the operation of a single business enterprise, which is Ethiopian airlines, and weakening the airline means weakening the government. This argument doesn’t hold water. Ethiopian government is so huge and have multifaceted income generating institutes, and Ethiopian airlines has never been a source of income for the government as it has been exempted for long time and still is from paying income taxes, import duties and dividends.

Ethiopian Airlines Named "Africa’s Most Profitable Airlines" for the Third Time in a Row just last month, look at their website. The airline is run by experienced team of management in the aviation industry not by political activists as the crowns testifies. This airline is one of the companies that I aspire to work for.
As I closely work with the airlines flying to Addis Ababa and beyond, I have observed that the government (how you call it TPLF) collects much from other airlines flying to and through Addis Ababa in the form of taxes, landing, overflying and ground handling charges. This amount is primarily collected by the Civil Aviation, and Ethiopian Airport Enterprise. How are you going to deny the government from collecting this money? Do you know that whoever airline flying over Ethiopian skies pays for crossing the air space. Whether you fly with Ethiopian airlines or any other airline no one has a right to protect the government from collecting the money. So what to do??
If boycotting is your plan, please boycott totally flying with any airline over Ethiopian airspace and use other means of ground transportation if you can or else stop flying to Addis totally. Please does not trying to fool us that your boycotting plans have some substance? Your business seems to have something to do with Ethiopian airlines as the airline refused to rehire obbo Diriba. And I don’t see the large Oromo population represented in your cause. Tell us if there is any good reason to boycott flying Ethiopian airlines as you argument is simply nonsense.

Just for the benefit of the doubt, if you happen to have Oromo blood in you, you don't have Oromo interest and value at heart I bet again. Ethiopian airliens is a state owned company. Ethiopian state it is. The money goes to the owner,
to ethiopian government, woyyane it is .
It is a fact that the company is profitable, he himself is not denying that, he actually brags about it. What fact is he asking about it then.
It is a fact that the company is profitable and it is a fact that the profit goes to the owner.
The fact that we don't know is the exact amount of the profit. Is that what he asking about?
That fact might not known even to him to a woyyane spoks person because that is not his responsiblity. His reponsiblity is to defend the governement online among other things.
We (him, myself and the rest of the people in the country) have no access that inforamtion, to exact dollar amount the woyyane is looting from the airlines, the donnars, the thousands of business the governement is running in and outside of the country.
